Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is a 200 + bed community hospital, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies. Formed in 1998, CKHA is committed to core service excellence, top-flight operational performance and to becoming a facility of choice in Southwestern Ontario. CKHA provides services from two sites in Chatham and Wallaceburg and CKHA’s strong performance and connections with key providers across the community and beyond enable the organization to improve access to healthcare services for the communities served across the region.

Position / Responsibilities

CKHA is looking for an inspirational and collaborative leader who will bring a passion for excellence in patient-centred care and expertise in, and experience of, leadership with mental health and addiction services, chronic disease management and complex continuing care. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Chief Nursing Executive & Chief Professional Practice and leading an effective team of managers and dedicated staff, the Director will work in partnership with physicians and other professional staff to advance a model of interprofessional and team-based care. The Director will focus on creating a high-performance team culture that facilitates service excellence and continuous quality improvement in the areas of mental health and addictions, complex continuing care and chronic disease management, and will work closely with community partners at the local and regional level to build a service delivery model which operationalizes services for these patient populations.

Candidate Requirements

The Director will have a proven track record of leading quality improvement and change management initiatives in a patient and client-centred model of care and experience of working in a unionized environment. The Director will be Masters’ prepared from an accredited University and hold a current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or a Regulated Health Professional College and have significant management experience in a complex health care environment. The Director will have superior interpersonal and communications skills, demonstrate compassion and genuinely value all members of the team. A working knowledge of tools and techniques to improve performance and resource utilization would also be an asset.
