OMVIC regulates motor vehicle sales in Ontario by administering and enforcing the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act 2002 on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS). OMVIC’s mandate is to maintain a fair and informed marketplace by protecting the rights of consumers, enhancing industry professionalism and ensuring fair, honest and open competition for registered motor vehicle dealers.

Position / Responsibilities

OMVIC requires a self-motivated, adaptable, collaborative leader with strong corporate accounting background and change management skills for their Director of Finance position. The successful candidate will also possess with a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting and strategic planning.

Candidate Requirements

You are a dynamic, confident, high energy and engaging leader with strong team building skills, and someone who has demonstrated success as an accomplished Corporate Accounting Manager. Your exceptional interpersonal skills have earned you a reputation for building a trustworthy, positive, accountable work culture, as well as given you demonstrated experience working with a variety of stakeholders within the broader public and private sector. Having completed your university education and having a CPA designation, you also have 6-10 years of experience working as an Accounting Manager ideally in a combination of both the private and the public sector. You would have at least 5 years experience in a leadership capacity with a focus on corporate accounting and financial management. You also have strong change management background and experience overseeing budgets for a progressive organization that has experienced significant growth.
